Squares

My workstation, aka the kitchen table!  I do have a desk, but my computer takes up most of the space and when making quilts I need to spread out and this is the best flat surface.  I have decided to start a new blog especially for my textile work, you can still visit 'the library' through: www.thebuttonadventure.blogspot.com.
This is, what I thought was the finished quilt, however looking at it again, I realised it needs to be much bigger. So back to cutting out more squares. Thank goodness I bought more fabric at the quilt show.

  1. Hi Lily, I popped this comment under yours on my blog but incase you don't get to see it here it is again: it is approx 60x80 cms as that was the width of Evie's cot. To be honest I just laid out blocks of 9 4" squares until it began to look like a quilt size..there were quite a few times I laid down next to it to see how it measured against myself. For the border I used regular binding tape which measured 25mm x 2.5m and it took exactly 3 of these to edge both the quilt and cot bumper.

Your colour choices are lovely, looking at the image you have above I would say another block of 9 to the left and another 2 blocks on top would make it quilt size :-). I'm following your blog now so look forward to seeing the completed project x
